Might need to slam down your hood with more force. I believe the hood is double latched so let it drop down shut as opposed to babying it.

The hood is hinged in a way it needs to be slammed down for it to align properly. I suspect, however that your hood sensor may be hung up, fallen down, broken or otherwise in a bad way that you get this notification. If you keep getting this notice, check the sensor in the lock area. I had to replace mine on my W211 and I think it was $20. It is a very simple contactor switch.

Make sure your hood is shut tight on both sides (left and right). I got that warning after getting the car back from the dealer one time, and it turns out the hood was not shut tight on the passenger side, but you could hardly see it by just looking at it. pushing down hard on the front passenger corner and heard a click and the warning went away.
