colgan front end bra for E350

Polishing car and noticed a few small chips on front white grill. Car is 2 years old with only 6000 miles never goes out in winter. I am planning on a 3000 mile trip has anyone put a Colgan front end Bra on their car? I am wondering if that would help on the long trip?

Those types of bras will wear on your paint as they move around at speed. Especially, if you encounter rain and they get wet.
Just deal with the small chips and touch them up. I have very minute chips and have touched them up with great success. If you have your car for many years and the chips become too many, you can always respray the bumper.
I have not seen one of those old school type bras on the road for many years. I had one for a Triumph TR7, so I know how they work, or don't.

I was worried about the rubbing and you are right I will just leave it and if it gets to bad I will have it repainted. I do not like the clear coat shield because it leaves a line that looks like garbage.

if youre only using it for the long trip, you should be alright, having a bra the whole time will have some slight problems with paint as KEY08 mentioned. i do have heaps of chips as well but i just touch them up everytime.

bra as a short term solution is fine. But for long term, some people swear by those clear wraps for extra protection. Will be pricey though.

saw the clear wrap and over time you can really see a line and I definately do not want the line. I think i will just leave it and when it looks bad just have it repainted.

I had a full clear bra on an Infiniti and you can see the lines, dbldpr is correct. I prefer now to just use touch up paint. I use a paper match stick to apply the paint and it works really well as opposed to the small brush that comes in the applicator.

Yeah, I know about the line if it is a clear bra, but I thought they had wraps now for the whole hood so there would be no line.

But then, if you don't wrap the entire fender there is a line. It just keeps going. I have friends with clear bras on the entire car. Lol. exotics mainly

That's what I was thinking of. But it's pricey...
