Illuminated Star

Everyone,

I searched through this forum but cannot find my answer so wanted to ask.

I have a 2014 Mercedes E350 and the dealership just installed the Illuminated Star Gen2 yesterday. Now, can someone please tell me what tweak can I do to it so that the star comes on when locking/unlocking the door in addition to the engine running. Any help is much appreciated.

Please help and let me know.

Thank you

Here is my aftermarket star that I installed on my w207. I conected it to the parklight so it turns on when I open car and stays on all time when I use the car.

It looks nice. Can you share more information? For example, which wires do I have to disconnect so that I can connect them to the parklights (and which fuse that is)? Thanks

It would be hard to differentiate the aftermarket one compared to the OEM. Which brand did you get, it looks really good.

I love the look of these and would definitely have added it if I had the same grill type.

LOVE THE CAR AND THE WHEELS. Not a fan of the emblem though. But to each their own. There has to be a way to do what you are asking though, Good luck

Have any idea why this would be true?

From the eBay ad: Not for vehicles with Distronic/Distronic Plus

Because you have a special star as a plastic plate on those with distronic so definetly dont work on those.

On vehicles equipped with the Distronic feature, the emblem is actually a sensor which guages your distance from the vehicle in front of you.

Did you ever get this hooked up?

I bought one as well and not really sure which wire to connect to.

My sedan does not have side markers either...

From memory I have :
Thick Red wire - which is 12v all the time
2 thin yellow wires
Red wire w/Yellow stripe - 12 volt when you unlock, but it also runs a small fan for the lights even after the lights turn off
Thick Brown -maybe ground?
Thick yellow -??
