PREPAID MAINTENANCE PACKAGE
Can you buy a prepaid maintenance package starting at the schedule B service interval? I am coming up to my Sch A service next month, and would rather pay the Sch A service out of pocket, and then buy the 3 yr pack beginning
at Sch B 20,000,30,000,40,000 intervals.
My dealership is telling me that I have to buy the 3 yr package beginning with the Sch A service at 10,000m. Any thoughts on this?

Call one of the guys in the extended warranty thread. I am almost certain you don't have to get it at new.

You should have no problem buying later. I think that dealer who told you that is full of it and just trying to get the sale. If they give you grief or a bad price, just go buy it from another dealer. + 1 on looking for recommendations in the extended warranty forum. Those same finance folks that sell the extended warranties sell the prepaid maintenance.
The prices are based on the model of the car and the number of services included. They do ask for mileage and year but that doesn't effect the price from what I researched 2 years ago. So that's why it's better to wait on a B/A/B cycle especially if plugs or ATF service is with one of those. I got mine just before a B/A/B cycle along with plugs, ATF, and engine air filter on mine.

I bought mine when the car was just under 80,000 miles, and it then was B, A, B which saves you more than A, B, A, because a B service is way more money than an A service.
You can only purchase it once, and the car has to have under 80,000 miles when you buy it. And, you can buy it from ANY MB dealer, but I found that everybody's prices were the same, aside from my saving the sales tax buying out of state.

I purchased one in 2010 and you are buying it from MBUSA and their policy then (probably still is), MUST be purchased BEFORE the FIRST (A) service.
Call MBUSA customer assistance. Rember to not confuse extended warranties or dealer mainteance plans with the MBUSA pre-paid plan.

I forgot that MB has two prepaid maintenance plans on their website - premier and star. Premier appears to be for new cars (before first service I presume) and star is for later purchases. Not sure of price differences, best to call around and get prices on both to see if better to start off with 4 year premier versus wait after 1st service and get 3 pack.

I just bought a PPM 4 yr pack from MB AUSTIN TX (BRETT)
MBUSA $1475. No sales tax. MY local dealerships were charging 300 dollars more.
My dealership that I bought the car from would only sell me a 3yr deal for the same price of 1475. I bought from MB AUSTIN TX, because I got the 4 yrs for the same price . I checked other dealerships, and they were all more that 1475,
so I'm happy with my deal. I have 6100 miles on the car (8 mths old)
