I use it all the time. Just ordered a new car that doesn't have the feature and I'
m already missing it! The BMW hold feature mentioned in post #6 sounds ideal and should be a standard feature on all cars.

nice upgrade....usually people just do the titanium lugs.... jk jk.
I have a friend that had a hip replacement (due to prior car accident) and he bought the newer e-class just for the brake hold feature.

I also have a rabbit. Went from driving with the hold feature on a hill to not in the Caddy (rabbit truck for the not-yet indoctrinated) and almost rolled back into the car behind me.

I can definitely see the added safety benefit for distracted drivers (foot might slip off the pedal when reaching for something, etc) and also to keep brake lights on at stops.

If you are getting rear ended to the point where the vehicle would move forward i'm pretty sure the grip from the tires would go a lot sooner than the pressure of the pads onto the rotor. Unless this has like just enough pressure to keep it from moving forward?.. i doubt they would design the system like that though.
Thanks!

I've been using it more frequently now that I know it exists, I like using it as a way to launch quickly from red lights, haha.

I just used it for 'launch' the other day and it was pretty cool. Maybe I have to use it more so I can get used to it. Just hard to trust it after years of keeping foot on the brake pedal.

E250 Edition E
It is a useful feature but to activate it, one requires a lot of practises to perfect it. There are times when it simply refuse to come on. A button instead is therefore a useful suggestion.

Sounds like yours is malfunctioning. Mine goes on every time unless I don't "dab" the pedal hard enough after a stop.

How does it help in SF compared to any other place where you would not use it? The car has the Hill Hold built into it.

they never move back even a centimeter when youre on an uphill as long as youre in drive. if it does, theres something wrong with your car.

it doesnt move as far as i remember , but i know i made a conclusion to myself that in SF i used it more than anywhere else , cuz i found it really useful there , but back home in Sacramento i barely even use it.

P.s. maybe it just feels safer this way , and i know it wont roll back lol
