HOLD function- who uses it?
I recently discovered this feature and used it today for the first time. Seems like a novelty. I've been driving since the 70's and have never thought that it's a nuisance to keep my foot on the brake, and if I were stopped long enough, I would just put the car in park.
Who actually uses it? Just curious-

It's kinda of cool but it hasn't totally won me over since I don't use it much at all. Honestly, I mainly use it when I need to tie my shoes and can't comfortably keep my foot on the brake pedal. Yes, I do run out of the house with my shoes untied. Sure I could put it in park, but whenever I do that I forget to shift back to D after the light turns green.

It's a nice feature I use to prevent rollback on steep hills that I come across. Really the only time I use it though.
I wish they would take the triggers for this, and replace it to engage the start/stop feature though, and to have the HOLD feature turn on automatically when coming to a stop. I think that would be an awesome trade off.

I use it quite a bit when my legs are tired. I like BMW's setup better, push the "hold" button once and the brakes will apply every time you come to a compete stop.

I use it instinctively every time I come to a stop light, or stopped on an incline road.
It's become an indispensable feature to me, like the comfort access and push button start.

Hold usage
I use it all the time. Very useful in an urban area with lots of stop lights and stop signs. The downside is when I switch to my wife's 2014 Lexus RX 350. It doesn't have this feature; instead, pressing down hard on the brake pedal activates a full-time 4-wheeel drive feature.

I use it all the time at stop lights. I believe it's an advantage that the brake lights stay on until you begin your acceleration, a little extra assurance that there is less chance of being rear ended, as happened to me long ago in a VW Rabbit.

I found it by accident after a few weeks' ownership. Now I use it every day when commuting. Waze is always good for learning new back road routes on your commute, and I find HOLD a nice feature at many inclined/stop lights. After driving with it for a year it seems that's the way cars should work.

I use it every time I'm stopped in the lights as the first car and also use it almost every time I'm stopped in any situation.
In stop-and-go I use the distronic.

I have a difficult time even getting it to work. Isn't it a double tap of the brake? My car always starts to roll as soon as I let go of the brake even slightly.

Stop as normal and then push down quickly and hard on the brake pedal until the HOLD signal comes on. I rarely use it myself

I also use it all the time. Great feature. To activate, you simply push down harder after coming to a complete stop, not a "double tap," per se. My foot never comes off the pedal after fully stopping.
It's also great when you want to race the granny in the lane next to you when the light turns green. I haven't lost yet.

I wonder if the people that aren't using the feature daily are having the same issue of it not working seamlessly
