Dash CAM front/rear suggestions
Hello everyone. Happy to be a part of the MB family. Just purchased my 2014 E300 sedan. Loving it thus far. I want to do a few things like; add better sound (speakers), add 19 inch wheels ---> the 17 inch stock are wheels, I just think bigger wheels make it look even badder, add a trunk spoiler etc.
For now, am looking to see if I can get some ideas on where to buy a good enough dash cam that will record front/back HD quality video. I live in Toronto Canada and can't be too careful on these streets out here. I figured am already paying for full insurance coverage but it wouldn't hurt to add a dash cam incase I was ever involved in an accident (hopefully never). I prefer something small in size, that doesn't require me to rip the interior of a car up to install it.
All ideas are welcome.
Thanks again.

Hi thefisch I suppose I didn't search hard enough for other 'dash cam' threads. I believe the first thread has answered most if not all my questions. Thanks again!

Good luck. I just went with a cheap dash came off of Amazon. HD and only faces forward (or one way at a time) and can be powered by any of the cars outlets. I set it up to run through my glove compartment so there's very little wiring showing.

Hi jahquan3. I saw your post, thanks for your contribution. Yes, little wiring showing is what am going for. Currently reviewing the: BlackVue DR430-2CH. It has a lot of features that I may not necessary need. I have under ground parking in my condo building - no issues there and am pretty confident that parking at the place of employment is pretty secure although it's not underground. I believe I need rear viewing...you know, for the occasional unruly 'tailgating-wannabe-daytona race car drivers' or 'the bumper-grinders' when am out with the family enjoying the Merc. I can see these camera becoming optional for most high-end vehicles in the very near future. Am just amazed at the number of dashcam options out there. Alright, let me do some more reading and youtubing now

I have been using a Lukas model bought from ebay for a few years now.

I just run 12V cig outlet that is located on the center console, accessible from rear seats. I hid the wire through passenger side a piller, down to carpet are in passenger side, then to center console, completely hidden, no interior piece had to be removed, took about 10 min. Since I've used this one for some time, I might upgrade to two camera system. I also have one installed on GLK, same method, also took about 10 min, completely hidden, and using a "LiveVue" model.

Hi BetterTomorrow thanks for your suggestion and link. I actually did some digging on that model:

The review was thorough. However, the comments not so much. If yours has been working for some years now, that's quite impressive. I'll keep this mind as a keep reading more. Thanks again!
