what's this?

What's underneath what is outlined here by the orange line? This entire piece (3 sections) looks like speaker mesh. Why the mesh design? what is it for?

But probably not speakers underneath right? Can I pry them up to clean?
What's underneath them? (besides the parktronic indicator unit)

Is there instructions to remove the cover? I need to somehow clean them a bit. I had the windshield ceramic tinted (70%). It is a messy process as I watch from YouTube. I am sure a crap load or water and goo was dripping on to these mesh covers because under light you see "spots". I assume it when the water and goo dried through these holes on the underside. Would like to remove and clean the underside.
