Hood Star or No Star?
That's crazy. Neat idea, but the receiver bed is kind of bulky. If the hood was modified in such a way that it sat down flush that would be cool. Unfortunately, that would be cost prohibitive, but I could see a custom shop maybe doing something like that. Thanks for sharing!

I actually like it, but yeah the base is a bit bulky. I was thinking maybe i could paint the base body color to make it less noticeable. But yeah, its cool. I can see it on dbldpr's white merc. James bond style.

Contacted person selling the star emblem to ask how it is actually hooked up to electric on the hood. All I got back was it is easy to do. Must be a language barrier. Without knowing exactly how it is connected to the electric in the car I cannot purchase it. Has anyone out there actually put one of these in? If you have installed one of these can you explain how it was installed. Thanks

One mans easy can be another mans nightmare. I asked them if they could send me a copy of the instructions and diagram. I will be able to tell right away if it is easy. Looks like only one Guy in spain sell this unit. He says it is Mercedes Benz authorized part specially made for him? We will see

I saw on youtube I guy used a normal set of pliers and did it. I bought a $13 plastic tool on ebay from some foreign country that is made to do the job. It is supposed to be here by tuesday or friday. I am in no hurry to do it so I will wait for the tool. For my flat emblem on the hood you have to squeeze the spring with your fingers or use a needle nose plier. Went out to the garage today and took my recording chip to view. When I put it back in I adjusted the settings so you can hear more. Always tinkering my wife said I need to get a job but I have not worked since 1995. I do not want to work I just want to tinker.
