P0116 Code w/out overheating
Hi everyone,
I've been reading a lot on here for awhile and now this is my first post.
I did a ton of searching and I can't find a topic with my same problem with my 2010 E550.
Last week I noticed my fan kept turning on at cold starts and sounded like a jet is taking off. Fan never turned off and continued running for about a minute after turning the car off.
Finally I got the CEL today and it's giving me the P0116 code.
Engine is obviously not overheating because it turns on immediately even after sitting overnight and the temp gauge is within normal range.
So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be a world of help.
I'm guessing I have a faulty Engine Coolant Sensor or something.
Thanks in advance!

Out Of Control!!
You have a faulty fan controller or a fault in the fan control circuit---and you are correct the fan responds to engine coolant temps and AC refrig temps!!
