Floor mat buttons
On the weekend I posted pics of my "new 2011 E 350", today a package from eBay arrived with a set of MB OEM black floor mats When I installed them, I found that there were no floor mat buttons on the passenger side. This is a luxury model and the buttons are't broken off, they were never there, the carpet is perfectly smooth. Is this a standard practice in this year and model ? Is there any way to install another type of clip?
Thanks for any help and info.

HOWEVER, when I was purchasing WeatherTech floor mats and based on my model year, it asked "Please select your vehicle's floor mat retention device configuration" - They offered either driver side carpet posts only or both driver and passenger side. I inspected my car and chose the driver side only.
look like it's during middle of 2014 built year the passenger side started to have carpet posts since for 2015 and after, it only had the option with both passenger and driver. Vice versa, for 2013 and earlier, it only offered driver side only.

I know you can buy these and install them yourself into the floor carpet. Is that what you did?

After middle of 2014 production year, they added the passengers side posts.
Loved the nipple reference.

Now, if only MB mounted the outside ambient temperature sensor in a useful position, I would have the perfect car.
