Possible new E550 owner!
Hey guys so like the title says. I might be a new owner of a 2011 E550 4matic owner. What I wanted to know before the purchase though is is there anything I should know about and check before buying the car? I plan on taking the car to a Mercedes dealer to do the pre purchase inspection to make sure everything is ok. And won't need repairing after the purchase. I know the air suspension usually has a problem so hopefully mine doesn't. Also does 27k seem reasonable for a 2011 e550 4matic with 52k miles. I'll have to get warranty after so I'm still trying to see what I should offer them. The car has pano roof, P2,P1 and AMG sport package (I think it has the wheels and suspension button so not sure.)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance on any of the info and help.

if you gonna get a warranty you shouldnt be worried much
but 27k does sound a lil high in my opinion , with warranty itll be around 30 k+.
but as far as inspection , dealer will tell you after checking it (thats prolly a good idea to take it to an Indy shop or dealer).
(with my 91k miles on 2010 i had a steering leak (covered under warranty) , and 2 of front air bags replaced)
oh , and also check the starter , cuz there are a few 550s that had a problem with starter (takes longer than normal to start)
idk if it helps , but someone else might add something else.

27K is way high. I have a 2010 E550 4Matic with 55K miles on it(exact same car, just a year older). Same options, P2, Pano, dynamic seats, etc. If someone offered me $21K it would be gone.

best to check the bulletin thread. And there is one or two 'what to check for' threads recently.
Airmatic would be a big one. Faded burl wood is another.

Don't know where you live, but this is right time of year to check out the car about 3:00PM on a sunny, hot day and see how much heat you get from the pano roof. How long does it take the AC to cool the car down if sitting in direct sun for hours? Does the AC have to run at high levels for long periods to cool it down?
While tinted, pano roofs generally do not have as much inside insulation as cars with regular sunroofs or no sunroof. Because they have to wind onto a roller rather than sliding back, the cover is generally a thin sheet of fabric.

Airmatic, faded wood trim, 4matic transfer case issues, and warped rotors are probably the main items to focus on. Also 27k seems very high, I'd check from something around 24k or so. Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you.
