2011 E350 w/ 951 Sport Package Brake Rotor Size?
#26
Haha. No arguments from me. My brake discs are 322 and 300 as far as I know and identical to the E350 sport setup. There is no reason for them to be different for the 2010-11 model year. Yeah the 63 AMG is completely different, but the 350 and 550 are the same I am sure. I just want to know why you ordered the wrong pads from Okebono Belarus? LOL

lol it was off ebay , i bought it , and when was about to install them , i found that the pads are totally different , so i messaged the seller (because prior buying them i specifically asked them if it will fit , they said yes ) , and he sent me OEM PADS free of charge (that are looking like the ones in the middle , see pic.)
and as it turned out 1342 were for 350/550 coupes and possibly NOW sedans?
anyways it was hella confusing , so i gave up and accepted that there are no Akebonos for 550s with drilles rotors. (until someone mentioned that OEM pads (dealer) are made by Akebono (which made is even more confusing) )
so here i am , trynna figure this one , and maybe sell my brand new set of 1342 pads haha
anyways.... thats the story.

It's confusing. I looked on Rockauto, there seems to be two style of pads, some say they fit all and some say except sport package. Oh well. I got a set a while ago and did the rears, but haven't done the fronts yet. Guess I'll check them first. It's probably one of those crazy things where its different depending on AWD or RWD then whether it's sport or luxury. Way too many part numbers and options. Akebono just lists all on their website for the E350.

WOAH , now its getting interesting
i wanna see how they fit because i doubt that 1342 akebono would work on your 350 , if it has drilled rotors with 344.2mm.
on the left is AKEBONO 1342 and on the right are the OEM PADS
and they dont look the same...at all. been there done that
and in fact actual pic of the pads in a box i got half a year ago that i still cant sell lol or just give away

I had cross drilled rotors that were 322 mm. my replacement centric rotors are 322mm blanks. After much research (and with the help from SOCCI), I learned I have the Sport appearance package and not the sport performance package, which has bigger size rotors (344) apparently.

isnt there only one SPORT PACKAGE ONLY? that includes appearance and performance ( drilled rotors is what it is pretty much)
Edit: centric premium rotors are awesome.

With 951 you get 322mm cross drilled rotors.
The sport performance package, which is code 950 I believe (don't quote me on that), gives you bigger rotors at 344mm.
Parts sites are confusing bc they list except sport or w/ sport pkg. For regular knowledge you think this means sport vs luxury. But it isn't. In the case of brakes it refers to the sport performance package.
Hope this helps.

Wow. I thought there was one performance package too. Appearance package sounds like a poser package. LOL
Now I am totally confused as well. I wish I had taken a photo of my front pads prior to putting them on. I bought them from Autohausaz and they came in a Mercedes Benz box with all of the Mercedes Benz star logo and part number plus an additional stamp that said "Akebono". They are the design as shown in your center photo without the "hooks" and spring clamp for inserting into the receiver.
My data card says 951-Sport Package USA. So, I guess I am a poser. nice!

ok to make it easier sport package code 951 comes with 18' staggered wheels and drilled rotors (344.2mm , atleast for 10-11 models 550s (i would assume 350's also))
and 320mm rear rotors.(for coupes its 300mm rear)
ima snap a picture when i get home since i have Akebono 1342 and OEM dealer pads (Assuming Akebonos ) handy. to clear the confusion a lil

The rotors might be the same, but the difference seems to be that one is dual piston and the other is single. On my W211, it was a single piston caliper so on the W212 E350, it's probably the same single piston caliper. The E550 tend to get upgraded items like leather standard and cooled seats as standard, it wouldn't surprise me that they also upgraded the brakes. So it makes sense that Akebono list an application for the E350, but not the E550.

So then 2dr coupes kept the 350 chassis brake system as its enough , except the sport package ones?
