Changing the spark plugs 2014 E350
A little freebie I'll throw in: When starting the new plugs place a 4" - 6" piece of vacuum hose on the plug to reduce the danger of "cross-treading". Once the plug is installed and prior to torquing just pull the hose off.

The earlier E350 didn't require removing the intake manifold and it would be just as easy as the other dozens of cars I've changed plugs on. I plan to wait till 70,000 miles and have them check for carbon deposits on the intake valves at the same time while I could possibly get those cleaned under warranty at the same time.
I read #13 posted by Konigstiger This PDF was a great guide....
I have removed #1 Front Engine Cover
I have removed #2 Air filter housing.
#3 Intake Manifold Can anyone post how they removed the intake Manifold...

With the #2 Air filter housing removed I was able to pull the T1/1 ignition coil. My standard Deep well 5/8" socket will not go down into the spark plug well inside the head. What brand or where did you purchase the correct Spark Plug socket?

Looking in the EPC site they call for a tool W 278 589 00 09 00 Spark Plug Wrench. I'm not finding it online to purchase..
Spark Plugs. in this E350 engine 276 with 3.5 Liter I haven't seen anyone posting much about what type of spark plug they are using or are considering. My research shows Denso 3495
Question for Konigstiger .... are you accessing the PDF inside the EPC site? I paid for a subscription but I can't see where those PDF's are located... I was hoping to look for additional details.

I wonder if other direct injection engines make you remove the manifold to access the plugs? To me, this is poor engineering.

Many thanks for you assistance and direction removing the intake .......
Spark Plug socket update...... With a flashlight and a micrometer I measured the spark plug well it is approx .810" in diameter. After looking closely I noticed the spark plug wasn't the standard 6 sided hexagonal shape. Thus none of my attempts using a 6 point socket worked.
I have just discovered that my 12 point 9/16" deep well socket will slide down into the well and fit over the spark plug. However it appears to be loose or not a snug fit...... I'm now searching for a 14mm socket with 12 points is such an animal exists....
My neighbor is an Indy mechanic..... I'll see if he has such tool in the garage....
I love a challenge and especially working on cars.....

Is this a good price?
Seeing how they made the mistake they said they would honor the price of $380....
