I was in the same boat but am glad I went with the 2014 E550. Drives better IMO. If you are planning on keeping it for a while as I am you will not be disappointed.

Now just have to decide on the extended warranty.

I thank you all for your assistance. I can't wait to get it and post some pics. It's my dream car. Absolutely love it
the air ride is cheaper to maintain than the hydraulics??

you have got to be kidding

No, that's what I was told. Never owned one and not a mechanic so have no clue.

That's why I'm here.

Edit to add. My understanding is the sport is coil and springs now which is cheaper than the air ride that's cheaper than the older hydraulic system but I'm a Noob. Please correct me if I am misinformed. Thanks

You are correct, the air ride is over twice the cost of the standard suspension to repair. Not only that, air matics are notorious for going bad as they get old, shocks won't suddenly go bad. It's a slow decline as they wear out. If you like driving its is the only way to go.

I happen to like car air suspension systems for a variety of reasons, with the adjustability being the main one. Sure, they require more cost to repair, if you encounter a problem because they are complex. Maybach, Porsche, Bentley, Tesla use air rides for their adjustability as well. This air ride vs coil spring argument will never end. Just like turbo vs NA.

if you haven't already, I'd go for the newer one.....has original warranty......newer, more tech......the 2011 is a nice one too, but with these, it's better to get the newer one IMO, post up when it's done!

Ok here it is. I just put deposit on this 2014 E550 4matic certified pre-owned with 2 yr unlimited mile full warranty and two years of free service maintenance plus I'm saving an extra 1/2 % over the loan I had for only $5k more than the 2011 I was looking at. I got it for $38,985. Going to pick it up tomorrow.

The best or nothing
The 2014 will age better!
2011 is old already
Hopefully the 2014 will be more reliable
Good luck!

In your post #7, you said the 2014 had 35,000 miles. This ad says 45,000 miles. Now I'm confused. This car has no options that I can see and is a base model. Enjoy it!

Yes, this is a different car I found last night. It's further away but has beige interior I prefer over the black interior I was originally looking at on the other 2014.

This is premium 1 package , heated cooled and massage seats, Harmon kardon premium. Blind spot satellite radio nav, illuminated door sills everything . Only difference I could tell was panoramic roof which I don't sit in back so it made no difference.

This one is $2k less and comes with two year free service the other 2014 didn't include but yes I am sacrificing 10k in mileage. I just didn't like the black interior. Neither did wife and so this was best fit

It is a Mercedes CPO and you bought from an MB dealer, so you should be all good to go now to rack up the miles as you wanted to. The Carfax is weird as it has no record of service in 45,000 miles. Not sure why that is the case as most services from dealers are always shown (oil changes, minor mechanical fixes, etc). Once again, it is a CPO, so it was gone through thoroughly to pass the CPO criteria.

In addition to Pano, it is also missing Partronic (with 360 cameras), folding rear seats, and from pictures it is not clear if car has Driver Active Multicontour seat with massage. Not a loaded car (for E550 by any means) and it is reflected in its retail price of only $39K. Yes it has a high milage, but is compensated by a warranty so its a wash.

The VIN check shows that it does indeed have the dynamic seats.

Thanks everyone. I'm thrilled.

Fold down seats? I have a Rover for that. Lol. How many times folks need to fold down the seats? I have a huge trunk and full back seat for groceries etc.

Parking cameras? Just more junk to break. I've been using my windows for 30 years. They work much better imo.

Doest have them crazy moving lights to fail either. I'm good with it. YMMV

I'd rather put the money into Renntech if it won't mess up my warranty

The 360 parking package is petty cool in my opinion. Granted you don't need it, but I want it.

Warranty is a iffy thing to say in this case.
If dealership sees it, warranty for sure its gone.

You pay to play in the tuning world.

I love the car even more after tuned. Its day and night difference.
