Congrats, you'll enjoy this car for a long time, in 15,000 miles you are due for spark plugs
no woman no cry:
no pano -- means no creaking from oano
no airmatic -- means no tears shed with $2000+ repair bills beyond warranty

This car is an absolute dream! I got to spend little time with owners manual to get full use of it but the ride home was amazing and we got way better than reported gas mileage

Wife took this one quickly I wasn't expecting when we went to Carrabba's last night after 4 hr road trip to pick it up from Leith Mercedes-Benz in Raleigh. They were great. Deal was done over phone I just showed up and signed. Nice and easy. They threw in a nice gift bag of killer chocolates and 5 MB ball caps for family to boot

good job, 2014 is the way to go. It's a 1 year only car, last year of 550 sedan, first year of facelift. Also the 2012+ are all 4matic, not sure if the 2011 was or not, but it helps a lot with handling and launching, the only downer is no smokey burnouts.

2014 E550 4MATIC TUNED - Turbo Upgraded Stage 3
I really would like it stays in manual mode.
But It won't keep it in manual mode.
Everything else is awesome!!!

They both have pros and cons. About 12 years ago I would have despised any luxury vehicle and especially leather interior on any vehicle. My first vehicle with Leather didn’t have seat heaters so a learning curve. Now I am a Leather snob! Fast forward about three years and then started dating a woman with same leather w/o heaters but was the Black interior. I was sold seeing how clean it was kept even with almost 200K miles. Yes Lexie helped but no tears, no bulges, no scuffs or stains. A vehicle without black interior is a deal breaker. I even look for black interior as selection criteria for rentals. With that said I despise black outsides. I am probably one of the classic old school theory of pick what you like and at the end of the day you are the one stuck in it whether it be payment, traffic, etc... I am for the most part fairly simple, greys, blues and silvers.....with of course black as first interior choice and a darker grey as second. The lighter leathers especially cream, tans, khaki and beiges are very difficult to keep maintained. I run a pump bottle of Meguiar’s over the seats door cards, steering wheel trim about every week or two and call it a day. The 2011 E350 I got is nice and decently equipped for the price I paid and the marketing and sales packages for that time frame. Some minor quirks but nothing I can’t deal with and some layout will take some getting used to. Example cruise control, every vehicle I have had let’s say late 90’s model year and above has cruise control on the steering wheel. European vehicles except for Volvo at least still keep it on the steering column stalk. Works the same but have to stretch the hands a few inches. The new technology of electronic rotary shift indicators and the MB electronic controlled column shifters are new technology and will probably start being seen more often. Works, just takes some getting used to. I am good with the extra cup holder space that is easy to access......
....Hear that BMW design engineers?
Mechanical and cosmetic condition being equal........
I would take the 2011 and treat friends and family to a nice steak with the savings!!
Unless of course the 2011 was the beige interior.....in that case refer back to beginning of my post.....LOL!!🥴🥴

I would find no value in a warranty from Carmax on a Mercedes. I drive a 2014 E550, so maybe I'm a bit biased, but I would go for the 2014. I previously owned a 2010 E350 and had no problems. Neither are a bad choice, but I would go for the 2014 and ask them to reduce the price. I only have 36k miles on mine and I wouldn't expect to get what they are asking.

Dudes, the thread is 2-1/2 years old. The prices are not real anymore.

This is not a specific comment but a general observation with friendly and hopefully constructive advice.
BE CAREFUL about all the safety nannies. Do not become overly reliant on automation...Remember at the end of the day, you the driver is ultimately responsible for safe operation of the vehicle and avoiding accidents/incidents. Automated systems are nice but you have to know what to do when they fail or have a backup plan which seems to be going by the wayside.
If you are involved with a incident involving automated systems MB will send some lawyers to the trial. Those corporate goons are going to bold face print every section from the owners manual....."This system is designed to be a guidance tool and assist. The ultimate responsibility for safe operation is in the control of the driver/owner." That print will be bolded and enlarged for the overhead projector to show the jury. Yes systems work good but they can fail too and everyone needs to know how to get back to the basics when they do.
Despite some peoples theory...….YOU CAN SURVIVE without Satellite radio, Bluetooth, even CD player. Even....Dare I say....Navigation, people have done it for the first hundred years o the automobile.
