Mercedes me app
Recently came to know about the "Mecedes me" app. Is this separate from M'brace? It says you have all the free functions such as remote lock, send to Benz etc. Is this free ? Is this compatible with W212? Thanks.

Thanks. So this is basically similar to M'brace. Is there any difference between them? How much does the adapter cost? Is there a subscription similar to M'brace. I don't understand why they (MB) offer two similar systems.

FWIW, I have the basic mbrace subscription on both my MBs ('14 W212, '14 X166). The other day I tried to use the iOS mbrace app and it said it was no longer in service and to install the Mercedes Me app.
Seems to work fine...the app has a better design, IMHO, and there was no need to change any hardware. It did not magically enable any of the features on newer MBs like remote starting, etc., but the existing mbrace features worked as before.

I see. So that's simply the new version of M'brace app. I discontinued M'brace because I didn't feel much value in that subscription. Mercedes me is not for me in that case. .

What do you personally consider the main benefit of having the subscription?
I'd love to send addresses from my phone to the car, but I'm having hard time justifying the subscription cost (but I'm still considering trying it out!).
Thanks,

I also travel frequently for work so I like the idea of my wife being able to get help with a single push button when I am away (not that a cell would not work for the same thing) as well as automatic reporting in the event of an accident if she is injured since we have small children in back.
In both of the above cases it is strictly a function of convenience since a cell phone makes it redundant.
YMMV

There is an advantage of this function which is better than using a cell phone in one situation. When two of you are using two MB cars with this feature and trying to meet in an unfamiliar city (for both of you), which has lots of confusing one way city roads and you are in a hurry. In this situation nothing beats the "follow the car" function.
