Using Nav while on phone

Using Nav while on phone
Is it normal for navigation to not say anything such as where to turn while on a bluetooth phone call. If i'm on a call I get no interruption for nav. instructions.

I noticed the other day that it switches to the phone screen during a call, even while giving nav instructions, which is annoying (can that be changed?). I turned the lady's voice as low as possible (since I don't think you can turn her off completely) and turned off the interruption as well... I can read a nav screen, so don't need this voice interrupting my music lol

Just talked to a person at MB. I need to go into Navi menu and then Announcements, then turn on announce while on phone or something like that. My wife has the car on a business trip so I can't do it now.
