Mud Flaps for E400W???
Mud Flaps for E400W???
I have been searching high and low for a set of 4 mud flaps for my 2016 E400W. Only rear ones primed can be found at Mercedes-benz dealerships and websites. But no front ones and I order a set of front and rear from ebay since seller stated they fit E Class 400 2016. However, after waiting a month they don't fit. Anybody out there having this issue? Appreciate any suggestions please. Thank You
OP has E400 which is a facelift Sport model only. There are no OEM mud flaps, including the part numbers given above - clearly taken on a Luxury pre-faceliftmodel, to fit non Luxury W212s including '14-on facelift.
well you right , except that it also goes for 14-16 models , but not SPORT , but they do fit luxury facelift models.
Exactly what I said and since OP has Sport (W212 E400s are only Sport), info above is useless to OP as OP has already found out by buying mud flaps on eBay.

Guys I really appreciate all the input. Although belarus27 mud flaps seem they would also fit my E400, my problem is I got that AMG package. The MB dealer does have a set for the rear primed for painting but not for the front. They are cheaper in ebay and already black. Here are some pics of my car.

I tried mud flaps on the front and rear. OEM. Each time I went over a speed bump (there are a lot in my area) they either cracked or broke off. Went through 3 sets and finally gave up. My car sets to low to have mud flaps on.. You cannot believe how many hours I worked on them and in the end I had to take them off.
but on stock height it should work just fine.
(still gotta be careful around curbs and speed bumps ...etc)

Stock height. OEM mud flaps. I sanded them with 1000 grit paper. Put 2 coats of primer on. Put 3 coats of paint same color as car and 2 coats of clear coat. They looked beautiful but they are just to low in the front for the crappy speed bumps. I went ever so slow over them and each time the mud flaps hit. You cannot raise them up higher because they are molded for the frame. Just gave up. you cannot imagine the amount of hours I spent on them. Oh well S--t happens. I have the sport model maybe the luxury model they are not as far down.

very interesting , i read on other forums (mostly russian ones) that they last them for a while even in their winter and huge amounts of snow , they still holding up well (but most of them were luxury models , since there was no flaps for sport models)

Dang, communicating with some of these oversees vendors can be frustrating at times. After sending numerous pictures of my car and providing details, one of the vendors replied saying "Your car is not a 2016 E CLASS, it's a 2014 Sport so the mud flaps will fit". I was like what???? Had to reply back saying my car was indeed a 2016 E Class I should know since it was recently when I bought it. For now I'm just going to give up the mud flap issue.
maybe what he meant was that your bumpers look like 14 model , and it would be compatible. IDK

well , it was worth a try.
Just wondering if the flexible ones available on eBay will break that easily. I've seen a few on eBay (which are not OEM at all). They are black flexible plastic and I thought may be black mud flaps won't look bad on my silver car.
where did you see those?? those flexible ones might be better as far as reliability and staying on longer

2014 E250 BlueTec RWD, 2015 GLK250 (Sold), 2025 GLE450E (On Order 4 May)
I bought a set off eBay and info can be found on this forum link:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...laps-sale.html
I got photos also if interested on the link above.
So far I had them on since July 2015 and probably got over 30K miles on them. No major issues so far. Sure the bottoms have some drag marks, not 100% smooth as if new, but hardly can tell unless you feel the bottom of each flap.
Would I do it again, sure would. I can tell they do tend to keep some water splash off and road grime down a bit, but the sides still get dirty as one would expect.
I did not like the guidance is to use only 2 fasteners per flap, I used 4 fastening points on each one.

i guess the key to them is to secure right... apparantly 2 fasteners not enough
These are the ones that show up first on the ebay. They mention the material as "semi- rigid" and the video shows how flexible they are. I was thinking about the longevity too. Minor scraps may not bother them if they are flexible enough and there is no need paint them as well.
