The badge is way suspect- I have an '12 Blue Efficiency and was told that the Blue Efficiency badge was discontinued after '12 MY. Someone addd the badges. If this car was CPO, discount the idea of fender respray- only bumper damage- not body damage, allowed for CPO. We have all seen added AMG badges. Maybe someone with a sense of humor added a BlueTec badge. Bottom line- how odd

Perhaps the original owner removed the blue efficiency badges (like some have done and shared here) and then they ordered replacements to put back on before their lease turn in. Or the dealer noted their removal and tried to replace but with the wrong ones. Should be a service record of that. Or it was a mistake of a body shop, but the odds of both sides getting damaged and needing new badges without major, significant body work is unlikely. Of course you could always stop by a body shop and they would check for paint work if you ask nicely.

OP, not sure if youre still interested with this but if your car has a petrol engine (so it seems) then that bagde was added on by a person who knows jack **** about MBs.

Ask that person at the dealer to put that in writing. Your Mercedes must be the first car ever build that can do that.

Huh, what's the difference between the two - BlueEff & BlueTec? Mine's diesel with BlueTec but did not have those BlueEff badges.
Plus, if it says E85 / Gas on your cap - definitely no diesel. My cap is bright green with DIESEL on it. Maybe that dealer is trying to get you to destroy it with using diesel so that they can make $$ when you bring it in.

Quoting MB, BlueEFFICIENCY is "a trademark for exceptionally economical and ecofriendly Mercedes passenger cars – is a package of measures compiled by development engineers across all disciplines, the main aims being to reduce weight, aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance, to further optimise the engine technology, and to make energy management even more efficient."
