Bluetec badges on gas E350??
Hi all,
I am the proud owner of a 2014 CPO E350 in Lunar Blue. This is my first Mercedes and I am absolutely in love with the car. One thing I noticed after buying the car is that it has Bluetec badges on both front fenders behind the wheel. The previous owner leased it so I'm really confused as to why it has them. Anyone know anything about this?

Not BlueTec badges those are blue efficiency badges. You can pull them off, it came from the factory like that.

uuummm that sure looks like a pic of blue efficiency to me. Also on your car they look like the blue effeciency badges I pulled off of my E550 BiTurbo.
Here is when I bought the car. Notice the BlueEfficiency badges. They sure look alot like yours
Here is during removal
Post a close picture of your badge so I can see it says BLUE TEC

Wow I stand corrected! maybe it was a screw up at the factory. Or actually from the looks of it looks like someone replaced the badging. Take a look at the residue around the badge there should be absolutely nothing around a badge when installed from factory.

What you see isn't residue, my car is quite dirty and I tried wiping away the dust from the badge before I took the picture haha.

The trunk has the normal E350 on the left and the 4matic on the right. The dealership is looking into it but they're confused too. They said it should say BlueEfficiency, if anything.

So the dealership got back to me and they told me that apparently my car can use either gasoline or diesel if needed. :O This is the first I've heard of this, can anyone confirm this?
Edit: here's a picture of my gas cap.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
You can use gasoline or E-85, which is a gasoline mixed with corn alcohol
NO DIESEL!!!!

Maybe putting on the BlueTec badges increases the MPG? Seriously though: Somewhere during your conversation with the dealer, there has been a serious lack of failure to communicate. NO DIESEL!

At least they got the "blue" part right!
And, as said above if you put diesel in your car you will destroy it. The nozzle of a diesel pump is larger diameter and will not fit in the filler tube. I love getting to use the word nozzle in a conversation!

whoever told you this should immediately lose their job. The two fuels are in no way interchangeable in an internal combustion engine.

I am pretty sure the fender badges were only MY 2012 and maybe the tail end of MY 2011 production in North America, and I don't recall a "Bluetec" fender badge.
Gascap thing is a joke, right?
