Long Range Maintenance

Been looking through my maintenance manuals for my vehicles and found some interesting things. This is for a 2011 Toyota pick-up and my 2010 Benz. These are based on years rather than mileages, which would be over 100,000.

Plugs: 2020 on the Toyota and 2017 on the Benz
Coolant: Never on the Toyota and 2024 on Benz
Fuel Filter: Never on the Toyota and 2024 on the Benz

Apples and oranges comparison. What is your specific concern?

Sorry if not clear. Just noticing that things that used to get changed much more often now last for 10 years or forever.

Given that different or somewhat better, more durable materials or parts are used in the critical engine and transmission components these days, it is not unreasonable to expect certain items need to be changed / serviced less frequently than in the past. Most auto makers either offset that by skimping elsewhere to keep their overall costs in-line or make something that was previously standard optional.
