I am new to the site, Thanks in advance for those who put in the work to make newbies like me life easier. I have found places like this to be very helpful in all aspects of life. Ok, I am in the market for a 2014 e 350 4matic. I have done a great deal of research and just when I am ready to commit, I read something about or see something that makes me hesitate. I have also looked at the competition and am not sold on any of the vehicles in this segment, but the wife thinks I would be happier with the Benz. Your input and guidance is welcomed.

I'm in my first Mercedes. My sister has the S63 AMG and after riding in that a couple of times I really wanted a Mercedes. I carpooled to Microsoft with a co-worker for about 6 months and he has a 2012 C-300. It was just better all around as a daily driver than my Jeep. I ended up purchasing a 2014 E350. Coming from the Jeep Wrangler world it was like night and day. I actually wake up and think where can I drive today. I live in Dallas and outside of the occasional freak ice / snow storm the Jeep was just something to get me around. It was big and not very comfortable. Now if I lived in Colorado or some place where having a Jeep makes sense then yeah I'd have a Mercedes and a Jeep but for right now this is the car for me.

Since I've never owned a Mercedes I ended up extending the CPO warranty to 2021 and getting the tire / wheel insurance as I know that Dallas has some pretty bad roads and most of my friends with Run Flat tires are always replacing them. The other piece of mind is that I get unlimited mileage warranty for 4 years. I also was given 2 years A and B maintenance upon purchase. So literally I think I only have to put gas in it until 2020.

So far it's been great. It's only been 2 weeks but everyone in the family loves the car. A commercial came on the radio about getting a new car and my 7 year old said she wants me to keep it forever and she wants to drive it when she is old enough. We'll see, but I like her enthusiasm. She never said that about the jeep, even with the top off.
