Engine noise on 2014 E350 4m(Video include)
Does this engine noise sounds normal to you?
I had 2010 E350 4Matic 5 years ago, I remember engine sound was quite and pleseant, was more like low tone that from Bose speaker. Now I have 2014 E350, I know engine has been upgraded, but this noise is bit ditracting. I brought to dealer and SA said it is all same for this injection engine model.. I bought CPO last month and tried Chevron Techron but did not make this better. I had 2015 E250 Diesel 4matic back to Asia and it sounds simular to my diesel model....
Here is video with sound
I am not sure it is normal for this year model or any advice to solve would appreciate!
Thanks!

Reference bulletin LI03.10-P-054702 if engine # is before 276 9xx 30 567600 requiring connecting rod and piston with wrist pin replacement. Listen to attachment.

That is normal for all Direct Injected engines. Nothing to worry about.
If you have the issue konigstiger is referring to, you'll hear a very loud clacking sound for 3 to 5 seconds after you start the engine once the engine has been sitting for a few hours. (I had this issue and spent weeks trying to convince the dealer that it was the TSB listed by konigstiger, eventually they performed TSB and noise went away).
The clicking in the OP's video is just normal DI injector noise.

Mine sounds identical to yours. I thought for sure something was wrong... like why does my gas engine sound like a diesel. The Lexus V6 engines are the same way.

Yes, mine sounds the same. I was actually worried for a couple of weeks after getting my 2014 E350 CPO, but read multiple posts saying this is the normal engine noise. Not noticeable from inside the cabin, but sure sounds loud from outside!

My 2014 CPO E350 sounds exactly like OP. Ticking noise but no low clunking noise like Konigstiger posted.
Edit: actually, mine might not be that loud, but definitely clicking noise when running.

Noisy engine on startup
We have a 2013 w/ 34,000 miles and it has always been noisy at startup then gets better soon. Does the 2013 have same engine and if so has anyone suggested better oil weights? Thanks in advance..............

Do these M276 cars still use secondary air injection? If so, that's what makes it so noisy at cold start.

Only just got the car. (quite happy with it)
The Service Consultant at the dealership told me that the ticking sound of the engine was normal. I understood better when he said that the engine is a Diesel engine made for gasoline.

I'm trying to think of why I spent the time to register for this forum...with the sole purpose of replying to this particular thread out of the many threads of the many sub forums in this expanse of MB world.....just to tell a lie.
I bought the car and was so concerned that the engine made a ticking noise (quite evident while waiting for a coffee at McDonalds with the window open) that I scheduled a service appointment.
The service consultant told me that he gets that question A LOT. He said, I'll start your engine and we can listen but I'll bet it's running perfectly. So he DID start it and he DID say, Yup, it's running absolutely fine. - That's when he told me that the engine is actually a Diesel made for gasoline.....and that it was Mercedes 'answer' to the engine before it.
It DID make perfect sense to me because Diesels DO sound loud. MUCH louder than mine...perhaps running on gas (and whatever modifications to the engine for that purpose) makes them run as quietly as they do.

Not really "used" to it. But accept it because the engine runs so smooth and car is super quiet inside. When I'm sitting at a light (eco NOT on) I can't even tell it's running. Windows down in drive thru, I can hear the ticking noise but it's not bothersome.
