Increasing HP/Torque
Note, the ECU has to be removed and sent to OE in CA. It is extremely easy to remove. No tools are required really, only a flat head screwdriver for convenience. I could not find a tuner that was able to tune our direct injected gasoline E350 engine remotely with a programmable OBDII tool. Many more recent models can be tuned that way but, unless you guys find it, ours can't. With overnight shipping, OE tunes and overnights your ECU back to you the same day they receive it, so you will only be without your car for 2 days.
Good luck.

interesting find, thanks! And like the other guy said, would this void your warranty? I guess if I that maybe new exhaust, i can hopefully get close to my goal.

There are trade offs for everything. You could do high-flow cats to pass inspection, but the most power gains would be from going catless.

Headers can help but usually only if you remove or change the OE cat to a highflow cat. On the 350 engine I doubt changing the headers or cat back exhaust will make much of a difference in anything but sound. Exhaust changes are obvious and will cause warranty problems.
After market air filters can help, but usually only add convenience not performance. They only make a noticeable difference if other intake modifications are also made or you have a forced induction car. My K&N's may or may not have added to my 'tune' -- can't tell on the E350. On my C55 with the larger, carbon Renntech Airbox and ported throttle control unit, the K&N's made a cumulative difference.
