Driver's heated seat bottom....why would "Level 2" feel hotter than 3? Reset maybe?

I have a 2011 E350 with 42,000 miles. When the driver's seat heater is on level 3 [red lights], the seat heater performs well at heating the seat back. Problem is, the seat back feels much hotter than the seat bottom . However, and here's the odd part and where I differ from other posts, if I press the button to lower the heating level to 2 [red lights], I feel the seat bottom begin to get hotter, more so than it was when in level 3. What would cause this???? I've thought about disconnecting the battery and maybe causing a "reset" but I wasn't sure if that would even have an effect. Thoughts?

There are many possible problems with the seat heater. Search for the repair. Usually you just have to replace the seat heater and if your Mb-Tex is ripped in the seam, that's also a good time to replace them both at the same time. I think it could also be a loose connection also, but that's under the seat cover.

Scratch that. As it turns out, it appears only the sides of my seat bottom as well as the seat back are actually heating up. The center portion of the seat bottom isn't heating. The car is a year out of warranty but only has 42,000 miles. I also have the lump at the front of each front seat that a TSB addresses...but again, I'm out of warranty.
