Feedback needed on suspension dropping issue 2011 E350
Not long ago I posted on here about having my rear suspension dropping to the wheelwells overnight . Make a long story short I had the bags replaced and with the parts and labor it was a little over $1600. It raises fine and stays up but after a Indy shop fixed it, the passenger side is dropping again ( to the wheel well almost) after a day and a half. The driver side drops maybe an inch or two tops which I'm assuming is normal ? Especially since I'm in NY and the temps have been in the teens. What I'm asking for feedback on is, where else could there be a leak? The new bag was checked and it's good. Thank you all again !

“Could” be compressor internals given colder temperatures reference – link covers 211 but same principle applies to 212 also note last post: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...e-rebuild.html

what KEY08 said , if it were the springs you would be a happy driver again , but if it does the same thing , you have a leak somewhere else.
And you mentioned that all 4 sides go low on air , which should indicate either a leak in compressor or air lines. Otherwise only 1(in most cases) side would sag.
good luck and keep us updated.

Belarus. I am going tomorrow morning to have them inspect it again. It's not an airmatic suspension it's what they call . Agility control suspension . The rear has a sort of air suspension but the front is springs. The front stays up completely fine and the driver side only drops an inch or so which I am reading is normal. But the passenger side obviously has an issue by going so far down into the wheel well. What is the normal drop of a rear end after a day or two . ? Maybe an inch or so? And I'll let you all know how I make out tomorrow !

if its cold it will be dropping faster(if there is a leak just like my case was) , so observe if there is a change when its warmer/colder temperatures. but if its dropping significantly over a day or 2 i wouldnt say its normal.
and you said you got 2 rear ones replaced so obviously there is another leak in the system. mine stays the same within a day or 2...or 5.
i can only speak for the rear air bags since im sure they are similar to my air bags

Thank you for the info ! Yea both rear bags were replaced and it def did help a lot but the passenger side unfortunately still drops like crazy after a day.. It's gotta be a line leak or a valve ( I hope )!! And it's been cold as hell in NY so not much warm weather here yet !

maybe wait untill it gets warmer to see if it still drops like crazy as you mentioned , if the car drives fine with no warnings.
...... OR check/inspect the compressor and air lines that connect to it for any visible issues or maybe air hissing sound.

Yea , I don't know I mean the tire shouldn't drop all the way into into the wheel well. I can see if drops an inch or two. But if you look at the car from behind , it's lopsided Bc the driver side sits up lol

Is that rear suspension exactly like a normal Airmatic suspension? Do you have shocks as well back there, and did you check these when you replaced the air bags? They have been known to fail(leaking fluid) and will cause the suspension to droop like that. I know because I had one shock go bad on my E500 that caused a dropped suspension with the Airmatic. The bag cannot hold the rear up on its own without the help of the suspension strut/shock.

Key08, I believe it acts quite similar as an airmatic but I'm not a mechanic , so I'm not 100 percent sure on that. The Mercedes Indy mechanic stated that it doesn't have any other shock other then the bags. I looked up the parts and I didn't see other shock compentents in the rear.

micro cracks in air spring rubber sealings causing that to drop , especially when it gets colder.. makes sense. happy everything is good
