Water in passenger foot well after car wash!
Took my 2013 E350 to an automatic car wash today and had leakage in the passenger footwell - I assume through the cabin air filter.
Anyone else run into this? It is still under CPO warranty so I am hopeful whatever is the problem is covered.
MB carpet floor mats pretty well stained with the liquid wax that seeped through, but luckily they prevented the carpet underneath from getting stained. If it is covered, I am going to press to have the floor mat replaced as well.
Thanks in advance for your reply with a suggested cause/problem.

It's happen to me, 2012 E350 Bluetec. This issue with automatic car washes, the water, soap, etc., is too much volume for the HVAC drains. As a result, the fluids trickle in through the fresh air intake. To overcome this issue, make sure you put the HVAC on recirculate before driving into the car wash. I also think this issue is covered in the OM (owner's manual). As far as the floor mat, take it and pressure wash it with water to remove the soap/wax, and let it air dry.
Good Luck!

That stinks. Hopefully the mat can be cleaned. My manual doesn't say to put recirc on but it does say to turn off ventilation/heating. Perhaps that closes the recirc cowl.

There is a big hole on the right (passenger) side of the firewall. This provides access to the HVAC and there is a big plastic cover on it. It obscures the battery and one will need to remove this cover if one wants to work on the battery or jump start the car. If that plastic cover isn't put back properly, I can see water seeping into the HVAC and draining down the passenger footwell. Have a look!

other thing to consider is clogged sunroof drains..
went thru that, the water came down the A pillar, behind the kick panel, and filled up the floor UNDER the carpet, then over the carpet.. took out electronics - almost 3000 in repairs (wiring and grounds are in channels under the carpet. car had just come back from maintenance.. cleaning the drains is NOT part of scheduled maintenance
