change taillight to amber, any coding needed?

I just shipped my 2014 E350 from USA to UK and need to have the amber turn signals at the rear to meet UK spec.

I purchased a UK set of rear lights off ebay (they look exactly the same as the US ones, red and clear lens), plugged them in, they still flash red plus come up with turn signal error on the dash

only difference was the connector plugs were configured different, with a plast tab in different spot, so I just cut the tab off.

Not sure if the light need rewiring or is there some coding needed to be done in xentry/das

they work OK but flash red instead of amber plus of course the dash error message indicates something is amiss

Wanting to revive this. I have a 2014 E350 (S212 - so the Estate/Wagon). Wanted to check the part numbers below. Did you ever get this working - there is a wire that needs to be added from the Rear SAM to the left and right connectors and terminated into the existing plug to connect to the new combination lamp assembly. Then you need to code the rear SAM for ECE spec (I believe) to enable the new wire that was added. I got that info from another post, but my intention here is to check part numbers and whether or not this was successful.

My existing part numbers for the rear lamp combination per EPC are:
A 212 906 23 03 (left outside)
A 212 906 24 03 (right outside)

Since mine is 2014 (facelift), I have found what appears to be the european equivalent, which seems to be for cars that are 2013 and on:
A2129068702 (left outside, 2013+ S212 Estate/Wagon)
A2129068802 (right outside, 2013+ S212 Estate/Wagon)

These part numbers appear to be from a pre-facelift and are not the correct ones. They may be valid for pre-facelift but I'm unsure what a T-model Kombi is or if that's just the standard estate version for 2012:
A2128203964 (left outside, S212 T-model)
A2128204064 (right outside, S212 T-model)

T-model is Touring, which is the wagon. they used to be called TE or TD (300TD, 300TE) before the current naming conventions started in model year 1994. Kombi is another German name for what USA folks call a station wagon.

ok thanks. As a bonus question do you have any idea on what passes for terminals or a repair wire to add the turn signal from the SAM to the plug..?
