Howdy everyone. I have located a 2014 cardinal red e550 which I am purchasing. I decided upon the e550 because I wanted all-wheel drive and didn't want to afford the 2014+ e63 for $20k more. I live in a cold, snowy inland continental climate so this car will be driven year-round. I will be looking for an additional set of OEM wheels so I can have a summer set and winter set with summer and winter tires respectively. I think OEM wheels look great. That said, what OEM wheel pairing would you put with the car? I plan on mounting Nokian tires to the stock wheels on it currently. If/wen I find something I like, I will install the all seasons on those.
I like the look of w212 e63 wheels with the black accenting. I'm leaning towards perhaps painting/wrapping the chrome accents on the car, to give it a different look. We'll see.
i like to keep things in the family also and use the E63 AMG 19” multispoke wheel in the summer months (I’m in Chicago). This is a staggered setup and you need to be careful with tire selection to protect the 4 Matic. My tires are Bridgestone Potenza Pole position s-04 in 245/35 and 285/30. This keeps the rolling difference below 1%. One caveat is they are hard to find and very expensive. These wheels are manufactured by BBS for Mercedes.
Thanks for that. I always lust after those wheels when I see them on an e63. They look great. Did you pick yours up off a wrecked e63?
Thanks for the comment regarding the sizing for 4Matic. I forgot to mention that in the original post. Takes some playing around I imagine to get the sizing to be as close as possible.
I bought them in the wheel section on this site from a member. I searched for over a year to find an OEM set. There are lots of repros out there and I don’t buy repros.

Completely agree. I've learned the hard way that buying cheap chinese repo junk is never worth it. Almost always ahead to pony up the money the first time.
I will cruise the wheel section too. Thanks for the tip. Cheers for the guidance leading me to the 550 purchase over the e63. Just had to have the 4M here.
First inspect the wheels you have.
They look like Czech-made wheels that come with my white car and 3 of them had bad damage, when other members report trouble with them as well.
Wheels look is personal taste, so I will not comment on it, but for winter you might want 17" wheels.
I have the same color/wheel combo as you (only mine is a RWD E350) and I think it's perfect. But if I were looking for a second set, I second the opinion of KEY08.

Several years ago I went through the same debate. While the E63 is obviously quicker, I didn't want to spend the extra bucks for it. I am satisfied with the performance of my E550 and I think I got a great deal on it at the time. We have a summer cruiser if we really need to go faster (ZR-1 Corvette) anyway.
