E250 CDI (2011 model)
Blue tooth failure on 2011 E 250
I have had intermittent problems with the Bluetooth connectivity in my car. Initially it failed to recognise my phone whereas previously for about 4 years I have not had a problem. Then it did connect and worked for about 3 weeks. It then began to override the audio system and once the Bluetooth connection was made, the radio etc cut out while it was connected. Now it doesn't connect at all. We have also tried connecting an alternate phone (both iPhones) and it doesn't recognise that this phone exists, while we know it (the bluetooth in the iphone) works as it will connect in another car. So it looks like it's the problem with the Mercedes end.
Local MB are useless at getting help by phone and want it sent to a dealer.
Does anyone know if this is a known problem Before I sacrifice my cheque book to the dealer?
Thanks.

There have been some updates to Comand over the years and I think you can only get the comand updates at the dealer. Some other people have mentioned problems with bluetooth on newer phones and it's typically a problem in the OS of the latest phone. Before going to to dealer, try deleting the phone on the MB and clearing it out on the phone, restart it and do a fresh pairing.
