Just bought a 2016 E400 sedan
I just bought a 2016 leftover E400 sedan, it has 1k miles, dealer also CPO it.
I'm more than happy now.
The car feels much stronger than E350.

I think you'll find the E400 to be just a basket of fun. I think they mis-named the "S" button. They call it "Sport" but I call mine the "stupid" button -- because of the big, stupid grin it pastes on my face whenever I use it.
We named my E400- "Gonzo." Just like the muppet -- he (definitely a boy, for lots of reasons) is sort of blue-grey color (steel grey), his nose is longer than his tail, and he will do some really gnarly things if you push his buttons. (If you have kids, you may remember muppet Gonzo singing "The Flight of the Bumblebee" while he eats up a truck tire.)
Somebody once called the E63 "an axe murderer with headlights." If that is so, then the E400 is a serial killer with headlights. My grey sedan is nearly invisible, but if pressed, is seriously quick. Not like the E63 at the top end, but in town it is close enough that I am very rarely intimidated in the stoplight grand prix.
I get the impression that there are not that many E400 sedans around. I'm glad to meet another owner here.

That makes 3 of us. Mine is 2016 Designo interior. Nice ride. I'm looking to get it performance tuned. Anyone with a E400 done that?

before I bought this e400, I just extended two year warranty for my last e350, but after testing drive of this e400, I cannot move myself away from this beauty. I think Mercedes should give all e-class this engine at least.

So tell me, what is different about the E4000---what makes it "special"? I am tempted to look at them now...

This make my wife thought if I press the gas pedal too hard on this new baby at first.
Second is the sound, it sounds better than 350.
Third is the brake, the brake felt more safe.

Beautiful car and yes the torque is one of the items many E400 owners have spoken of fondly. That and the additional Hp over the 350 is a comfortable middle spot for many.

I was struggling between 17 E300 and this 16 E400, after testing driving both, I felt in love with this E400 more.
If MB put this engine in w213, and mark a fair price tag, it will be sold like hot cake!

Yeah, I have no idea why they thought it'd be appropriate to put the 300 engine in the base model (and initially, the only model) W213. About the same torque as 350, but less hp...

I found this 15 E400 data at mbusa.com
E400:
Net power
329 hp @ 5,250-6,000 rpm
Net torque
354 lb-ft @ 1,600-4,000 rpm
E350
Net power
302 hp @ 6,500 rpm
Net torque
273 lb-ft @ 3,500-5,250 rpm
you can see the low torque is huge different.

^ Beat me too it . Good job. The torque is the real difference plus it's a fairly cheap tune. Also many items come standard on the 400 that have to be optioned into the 350 like leather and many of the safety features.

How the question is, How 'good/reliable/cost to maintain or repair' is Mercedes with Turbo?
I know BMW sucks my bank account, if tranny goes bad, no way to rebuild.
Audi does something that lets us keep our kidneys.
How about mercedes? When did Merc. came into market and did it establish good results overall?
I'm always afraid to get Turbocharged models, even though they give better output and MPG, I feel, we are asking more out of a small engine and eventually, it's life span will decrease. One main reason to stick to 3.5-4.0 V6 NA engines (TL, SH-AWD, W212 4Matic etc.)
