Mercedes Benz E350 Coupe
Sport/Comfort Mode problem

2009 E350 Coupe. My car will only stay in Comfort mode for a short time & will then remain in Sport mode until the next restart. This makes the suspension stiffer & the throttle sensitive making the ride not unlike a go cart, rough & uncomfortable.
Is this normal/ repairable?

My understanding is that the E-class defaults to comfort mode every time the car is started and will never 'automatically' or 'independantly' switch to sport mode -- you have to push the button. Further, on the 2014 E-class and I believe on the 2009 E-class, the mode button is only a software transmission shift point map that causes the car to start in first gear in sport mode and hold lower gears higher into the rpms. The mode selected has nothing whatever to do with suspension and to the extent that steering is electrically controlled should have minimal to no effect on steering as well.

So to answer your question, no what you describe is not normal and should be resolved by an MB Tech/Mechanic.
