2014 E350 4matic coupe. Why is my lower spring perch so damn close to my stocks ? 235/40/18 ?

yep that looks right. surprised the first time I saw mine were that close. I recently moved to 19" rims and 24/40/19's had a slight rub in that same spot (it was a height issue more than width and had to go to 245/35/19's. I didnt want to go to 35 series because of the poor ride but ended up not having a choice.

Cool, so the 19's now fit for you when you changed the tire to 245/35/19 ?

Yes - here is a picture. They were made by Enkei Racing for a tuner company A&L Racing that is no more. They are super light at about 18lb each (compared to 35 or so for OEM). Initially wasnt sure I liked the look but it has grown on me.Lower Spring perch-mb-new-rims-side.jpg
