Extended CPO warranty.... Should I get it?
I'm still under factory warranty (less than 50k miles). I'm able to purchase another 2 years of unlimited mileage CPO warranty on top of 1 year warranty that came with the CPO program. The cost is another couple of g's.
So so far I had two issues: a) parking brake not releasing fully - fixed and b) pano roof popping - fixed. No other mechanical issues. surprisingly, the car has held up really well
should I?

Which year do you have again? I'd always say if you have the 2 gs to spare without issue then go for it but there's a very good chance you won't spend 2 g's in repairs in the next couple of years as well.
It all depends on if you are comfortable with spending that amount of cash and how old your car is (previous history). Seems like you can spare the cash so you can go either way.

For my 2013 it cost me like $1,600 (try Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors). Given it cost $1,000+ to replace ONE sensor for my blind spot monitoring, I think it's a reasonable gamble.

Only you can decide if its worth the gamble.
My father's 2011 C300 had been trouble free for the first 5 years 10 month and 30k+ miles. But this past month, within a matter of 2 weeks, he had two check engine lights come on. First time was a bad theromstat, 2nd time was some other temp sensor. Total of repairs for the two items was around $1200. He had gotten the 3 year extended warranty for about $2k. So he did not have to pay anything for the repairs. He has just over 1 year left on extended warranty. If anything else goes wrong during that time, then he would've made back the cost of the warranty (if minor issue). He got it for peace of mind to not have to worry about any repair costs over the 7 year period. He will be trading it in next year when the warranty expires for a new GLC and will get another 3 year extended warranty.
My factory warranty expired 2 months ago. I'm now under the 3 year extended warranty I purchased for $2k. So far in 4 years I've had 1 power window motor replaced and 1 rear hatch lock replaced. Other than those two minor issue the car has been solid. If it keeps this up over the next 3 years then I paid an extra $2k for a peace of mind. But if something major breaks down, than the warranty will more than pay for itself. Just a gamble either way.

It's worth it if you take it to the dealer, not really worth it if you're a DIY type as the dealer has really inflated prices. I've had the thermostat replaced on my W211, I think it's similar on my W212 as it still has the same M272 engine. That part is a tad under $100. Also had a bad temperature sensor in the passenger foot well, turned out it was a bad connect and the part was less than $10 at the MB dealer and I had an indy fix it for for well under $100, he did a bunch of other stuff at the same time so don't have a price breakdown. I already did the pulleys, belt and tensioner, those parts cost me a little over $150. The local indy who isn't an MB guy, just ASE certified just charged me $40 to replace the pulleys/tensioner. Very simple job, nothing complex about it.

Get every drop of extended warranty from mbz that you can. IF its a third party warranty, be careful and maybe just put some money int oa fund. If you stlil have the opportunity to get a MB extended warranty, but the max years they offer. which is not many.... naybe 2 or 3 past the factory is offerred.
