1/4 mile in Dyno Mode, Anyone ever try it?
Specifically for E550 BiTurbo's. I was watching a video of an older SL55 running the 1/4 in dyno mode and getting a faster than stock time. I'm going to run the 1/4 in my car and see what it does and I'm thinking of trying to do a run in dyno mode as well. Let me know if any of you have tried it.

I remember, dyno mode will turn off all electronics, leaving with minimal Traction control I believe.
Hoovie Garage made a video with his 4500$ S600.
be careful, you will lose power steering in dyno mode. I would suggest putting the car in dyno mode and driving it so you know what to expect before hitting the track

Great video.... that guy makes me wanna go to the track!!
wow... 13.6 to 12.55 with dyno mode?
oh and he didn't seem to lose any power steering... myth busted
Have you done it? I have driven in dyno mode on my 2012 and it turns the power steering off. Try it, it takes about 30 secs to do, and then report back
I have an interesting observation. I made LESS power in dyno mode on the dyno. Why? No idea. Common sense says I shouldn't. Maybe it was the shop, maybe the car was mad at me, who really knows. It was only a few, but still, I did.
Also - I am going to clean up the downpipes this weekend - if you are interested still, let me know

very odd, but if I recall weren't you in E mode vs S? I think you still have to switch that manually when you are in Dyno mode.
Hell yes I'm still interested. I thought you forgot about it tbh since it's been some time. They have cats right?
cars with hydraulic power steering obviously wont lose that in dyno mode, but if your car has electric steering then it can easily be turned off. If you are going to use it in 2012 plus car then definitely practice so you will know what to expect. At speed steering will feel normal.
These cars 60ft horrible which is what kills their ET. Best Ive seen an E550 sedan or CLS550 do was a 1.9x. The torque management within the TCU kills the launch on these cars
He was driving in a straight line, how did you figure it out power-steering is still working?
It says, all electronics are turned off..!
hes recording the whole time and he is easily turning his steering ... watch he video in the dyno run mode when he has to turn a couple times after the run to get his time receipt/printout... he's not struggling at all and continues to make his video ... for how verbose he is about EVERYTHING you would expect him to say something about the steering.
