Insurance going up - for all in US
My insurance went up about 15%, but fortunately the company found some more discounts so final cost was a bit lower. Did some searching and found out every insurance company is raising auto rates.
It is costing a lot more to repair cars due to all the high tech features on newer models. In addition, people are driving more, creating more congestion which leads to more accidents. Not to mention poor roads, speeding, distracted driving, etc.
It will get worse before it gets better.

What's new? Certainly not jacking insurance rates whether car or health. Or taxes whether retail, real estate, or income. I'll take a 50% jack in my auto rates if you can find a health insurer to keep my rates at a 10% annual increase. I pay $1,800 a year for full coverage on 3 late model cars with Allstate. That's cheap

That is cheap. I've got to shop around this coming year. Been with State Farm forever but the increases over the past 2 years have been crazy. I recall years ago that insurance used to drop in price a little each year, presumably as the car devalued.

I pay nearly $1800 for just my E350 and I have a clean driving record and only drive 5k miles a year.
Luckily my health insurance costs for the family has stayed relatively flat over the last 8 years at approximately $350/month for family of 4 that covers nearly everything. When my wife had our 2nd child, we paid a total of $175 out of pocket including OBGYN, Hospital and Pediatrician combined.
But my farmers auto insurance has been going up every single year, some years by 15 to 20 %. Between our two cars, we now pay about $2500 a year, and that's with low mileage discount (5k miles per year per car) and homeowner discount (we get home owner, umbrella, auto, earthquake, investment/rental property insurance all through farmers to get a package discount). And they were already the lowest out of 5 insurance companies I got quotes from. We have $1k collision, $500 comprehensive deductible and $1.5 million liability coverage.

I'm moving to California if I can get family health insurance at those rates. In Illinois with Blue Cross my high deductible family insurance is $1,800/mo. Yeah, I said that.
So, I have no personal issues with auto insurance rates whatsoever. Maybe your employer is paying 90% of your health care costs and the $350 is your share?

We are in Conroe TX just north of Houston. Seeing the enormity of the flooding I think all bets are off on next round of premiums for home/auto/business. It's really bad.

I'm so sorry for what is happening down there. My cousin is in League City and is wiped out. 1,000 year event they say now. Unreal. Be safe, man!
