265s on rear of 2014 E350???

Looking to buy a 2014 E350 with AMG Chrome wheels on it.
The rear tires are 265s.

Don't these cars come with 8 1/2" rims??

Max width recommended for 8 1/2 is 255?

Do I have a problem if I buy the car - need new tires???

Thanks for any help

Chrome wheel makes me think it may be an aftermarket wheel even if it carries an AMG stamp. It could be a nine inch wheel then and that size tire width is not an issue. Is it 4Matic?

Took the wheel off and it appears to be a 9.0. I guess it is OK.

One problem: I had a very hard time breaking the wheel lugs loose. Is it possible that the torque spec is different from Mercedes normal for wheels this wide? Anyone know what the proper torque might be? I just put it back on with normal torque setting that I always used on my other Mercedes cars.

Thanks.

The torque specs should be the same, which is 130NM or 96 ftlbs. Obviously, its not uncommon for shops to use pneumatic wrenches and tightening way beyond that. I have 285's on a 9.5" wheel in back, so these cars can take some big rubber.

Whatever max widths you see on E63 AMG you can rock on the regular Es same space back there.

The fronts are different as in the AMG has wider fenders to allow wider tires to stick out further and away from inside.

I think one can go high as 315 in the back with proper sidewall and offsets/ wheel widths.

Yes , you are correct. I am using the stock E63 19" multispoke wheel. Very slight poke on the front due to the narrower fender.

2012 E350 Sedan V6
My 2012 E350 sedan (RWD V6) has the AMG pack on it. As standard, the rear wheels are 9" wide and they run a 265/35R18 99Y factory fitment.
