W212 Headlight Switch - Illuminated or not?
2012 E350 4matic with Sport package. Question to this forum regarding the headlight switch ... which is the main rotary headlight switch to the left of the steering wheel. My switch and the different modes/settings on that switch are NOT illuminated. Now the switch area itself is illuminated by the interior mode lighting ... which simply shines a little bit down onto the area where the switch is located. But the switch itself ... and again, the settings ( P AUTO etc) including the little light bulb and vertical dash on the actual switch handle ... again are NOT illuminated.
My question is .. is this supposed to be illuminated? and if so ... do I need a new switch or is/are the bulb(s) behind the switch replaceable? From the appearance of the symbols and lettering on the switch and of the settings ( P AUTO, etc) sure looks like they're designed to be lit from behind ... but they are not.
just wondering. thanks in advance.

No, the switch is not illuminated, other than the ambient lighting. Your situation is normal.

Never noticed that it isn't lit, but then I don't even notice that switch, I just leave it on AUTO. I don't think I've touched that switch more than once since I've gotten the car.
