Sharing Resonator Delete on 2015 E350 W212
Guys, I was looking to tone up my exhaust and decided to do X-Pipe to replace my mid resonator. The X-Pipe wasn't long enough to replace resonator, so they added some additional piping.
Cost was only a $120!!!
I don't know why, 2014+ W212 E350 (after facelift) was WAYYY more quiet than pre facelift. Pre-facelift had some burbling even on unmodified exhaust, I got none![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Sound inside the cabin is pretty much like stock, just a little louder. Imagine being in a BMW with ASD (pumped fake engine sound through your speakers), only this is your real engine.
I was initially a little disappointed because I thought the exhaust note doesn't really change, but my video showed a different story.
Sounded quiet inside, but relatively aggressive from the outside.
Car shakes a little bit more, so anything metal or hard inside your car might create a rattling sound. Even a hand sanitizer in my cupholder makes a pretty annoying rattle.
Attached is the exhaust clip.

Yeah it's a V6 petrol, and I love it more and more every day!
It's very quiet when cruising, and kind of aggressive but not overwhelming on heavy throttle.
One pleasant surprise using this setup is how quick the throttle response is. It's not an overstatement to say that throttle response is instant, especially compared to stock setup where there is lag here and there. Now car feels very light and agile.

Do you have a video of a flyby? This is the best sounding video I’ve seen and am considering doing this ASAP!!

Pipe is magnaflow 2.5 in and out. If the shop doesn’t have it or has to ask a lot of questions then you need to go to another shop. $120 is fair with the extra piping that will be needed. Have xpipe installed as far forward as possible.
The resonator, which is heavy btw so there is another benefit, doesn’t create much back pressure so don’t think of it as a performance gain. I do not see how it possibly affects throttle response but you feel what you feel.
No chance that this throws an error code.
