Question Disable door handle lock/unlock feature -- possible?

So, I've read my owner's manual, searched here and elsewhere, and experimented a little ...

Is it possible to disable the door handle lock/unlock feature? There are times when I would like to turn this off, eg, washing the car (yes, I know I can put the fob inside the house ...)

Just leave the key in the car.

But, is there a way to disable the feature?

I don't believe so. I believe it is like that for a safety reason,so you can't lock the doors with key fob in the car. Or a child locking you out.

I believe I read somewhere that triple pressing or quadruple pressing the lock button (or a combination of presses) will disable the SmartKey communications, and thus preventing KeylessGo (at least from the sense of the door handles) from activating.
Try doing on a search on "SmartKey" and "KeylessGo" or look here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post7111370

Double-clicking the lock button on the remote will do this. When you do this, the LED on the remote should then illuminate steady for ~2-3 seconds to indicate that you've disabled Keyless Go.
