For a 2016 W212, can the passenger's seat bottom cushion or leather be swapped on to the driver's side? I see plenty of W212 in junkyards with burst seam on the driver's side but perfect passenger's seats.

If left and right seats can be swapped, which years are compatible with a 2016? I'm assuming 2014-2016 post-facelift will all be the same. Can anyone confirm this?

Far out idea: Could a leather seat bottom be installed on the cushion which was previously MB-Tex? Then the problem wouldn't come back. Thanks.

I believe they have different tapers down the sides to accomodate the seat belts on the inside by the console, they are very similar, but I checked my old ripped one and it's different.

I'm having the same issue. Very confused by the different labels on the available covers. I have a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4dr Sdn E 350 Sport 4MATIC w212 and my VIN is WDDHF8JB8EA820012. I have black MBTex/leatherette with perf holes which I think are what are labeled as "vents". I just want to make sure I'm looking at the correct part before buying it. I cannot find any actual pics for the part numbers.

Is this correct?

Thanks!

No, I dont think so, that's leather, you have MBTEX right? Check LCG's suggestions in post #128 for a better price maybe? Or MercedesBenzstarparts.com. Also if you go back through the seat cover threads, there's a place in Houston that makes aftermarket ones that some guys are happy with for like 200-250 dollars

Yes I do have MB-Tex. Thanks for the confirmation on this part. I also had that one and found a new OEM of them on Ebay. I will look for the aftermarket one also. My eyes were getting a little crossed going through all the sites and options with no real pics to verify with.

Thanks

Somewhere above, in this discussion, someone posted a list of websites for genuine Mercedes parts, to help with shopping for the best price. I copied that list. Here they are: mbpartsource.com, mercedespartscenter.com, mbparts.mbusa.com, mercedesgenuineparts.com, mercedesbenzpartsstore.com, mbonlineparts.com, mboemparts.com, mbpartsworld.com, sfbenzparts.com, mbpartscenter.com, importpartsdirect.com, suburbanautoparts.com.

When I ordered the seat cover for my E350, after adding price and shipping, the best price was mbpartsource.com That was a year and a half ago. Your mileage may differ.

Perhaps you have more confidence in items off of Ebay being genuine. I guess if the seller is rated well, you should have the option of returning if not.

The issue with the eBay ones is that they're aftermarket and sometimes they fit well and sometimes they don't. I guess the savings might be worth it if you're DIY it, but if you have to pay for labor twice, it might just be better to get the real thing from a dealer. All real MB parts have a 2 year warranty.

I gathered a list of parts stores over on BenzWorld. The dealership stores differ in amount of discount off MSRP and how much unreasonable shipping charges they include. Stores which are closer to you may charge less. I found OEM Parts Mercedes in AZ has the best discount and most fair shipping, even to me on the east coast. Autohaus Parts Delivered also offers a good discount and fair shipping but their Google reviews aren't the best.

I found my MB Tex ("Artico") grey seat bottom part # 212-910-73-46-7H23 for $422 list, $296 + $23 shipping at OEM Parts Mercedes and $296 + $18 shipping at Autohaus Parts Delivered. Other sites cost more for the part and/or for shipping. My cover isn't split yet but I will likely buy a cover soon in case they ever go out of stock.

Also consider buying the seat bottom from FCP to get their lifetime warranty! They stock the beige, grey, and black seat bottoms. They have only three part numbers listed for my 2016, seemingly all MB Tex with "active multicontour". My grey is about $50 more expensive than the sites above but FCP often runs sales on US holidays up to 10% off. The extra you pay them is basically a warranty against it failing again.

To answer my earlier question, the left and right seat bottoms have different part numbers. Also, forum posts have suggested that the new part number has the seam redesigned so it won't split again.

FCP Euro is currently offering 10% off orders of $400 or more using code BETTER4LESS until 9/26/23. That brings the seat bottom (in grey) from $372 to $335 with free shipping. That gives you a lifetime warranty on the seat bottom for only $21 more than the cheapest price I found online (Autohaus Parts Delivered, including shipping). Add a little to the order (leaking CPS or camshaft magnets perhaps) to cross the $400 threshold. Usually their threshold for 10% off is $500 so this is a better deal. My seats aren't split yet but I'm tempted to buy them now in case they increase in price or become harder to get in the future.

Posted in here a few months back and never ended up getting that cover because it seemed like the wrong item. How can I find out the correct part # for what I need? Looking to replace my passenger side front seat. The bottom portion is ripped so thats the main focus. I'd like to get an accurate part # for just that bottom piece or maybe even the whole seat. Seats have heating but no cooling. Trying to search on the parts sites is proving difficult with multiple parts all seeming to be the 'correct' one.

We replaced the seat bottom cover (in tan) on my sister-in-law's 2016 E350 from the link above. It takes a bit of physical effort to get the hooks in position and the edges locked in, but nothing really crazy.

Fit, color and stitching match to the rest of the seat is perfect. Already had pockets for the seat heater element, and there are a couple of YouTube videos showing the required removal/disassembly/reassembly/installation.

The whole process took less than 2 hours.
