Hello all,
I noticed every time I turn on the Assist. Graphic, as you know it shows the hood of a car and road that tapers at the top.
But I also have a triangle at left side bottom of the display.
I can't find any reference to that in the manual.
What does it mean?

Thanks,
Sal

Assistance Graphic is part of the Lane Assist function.

Is / Does the triangle you are seeing red / have a car in the middle of it?

I have not experienced a solid gray triangle icon at the left side bottom of the display while using Assist. Graphic. I doubt it's harmful but cannot say for sure. I'd inquire with a tech or service advisor at your dealer next time you're in for service or otherwise.

I've actually never seen anything on this screen other than the car and green road lines. I have actually tried triggering something to show up here by moving to the side of the road so I trigger the lane-keeping "bump", deliberately "abusing" traction control, etc. The manual has no real info. What exactly is this screen for? What are you supposed to see here?

Sorry I don't know how to size the picture but if you scroll down you see the triangle at the bottom left

I believe that triangle is just an indicator that you can scroll down with your steering wheel input for more options, like turning off.

Without Distronic (like my previous E250), this display is rather useless like you've discovered. However, with Distronic Plus this is the screen I use 99% of the time. If the system has detected a vehicle in front of you, it is displayed with a distance reading. The selected following distance is also shown on this screen. There is also a steering wheel symbol that changes color to green if steering assist is active (i.e. lanes markings detected etc). Also, if you have traffic sign recognition, speed limits are displayed on this screen. The active lane keeping assist does display a "warning" on this screen as well if a solid line is being crossed and the system activates differential braking to prevent it. The photo below was taken at a traffic light (had the wife in the car and she would have screamed if I started taking a photo in motion).

Glad for this thread! For the life of me, I was wondering what in the world was this screen even useful for! But not having Distronic in the car, I now know that I can, in good conscience, now dismiss this as utterly useless!

You would think they'd just program this screen out on the non-Distronic cars. It's not like they have to redesign hard parts or something.

Thanks!!! Now that you said it, it's obvious!! When I press the down arrow on the wheel, it goes to Attention Assist and the triangle "reverses" and points up. Obviously, an up press at that point gets you back to the assist graphic. Like the OP, I had wondered about the purpose of the triangle...

What year is yours? I don't see the speed limit in my 2014.

It's a 2016. Not sure what year they added the traffic sign recognition.
