front end clearance

Yes, the parking curbs cause me no end of worry. I don't have the parking sensors and have been looking into getting a front camera for the car, if it can be hooked up to the Comand to work like the OE rear camera. Haven't done anything yet. I would definitely opt for the parking sensors if I were to buy this model.

It is still better than on my SL500, but judging from spoiler scratches, PO was having issue with it.
Recall one member posting pictures of the car he bough delivered and his front was badly messed up.
That is why those who lower the cars - carry a set of planks in the trunk.

The surround 360 camera is amazing at showing exactly where you are in front with the concrete parking bumpers. I have my console short cut switch set to the front camera and initiate it when I pull into a space and slowly inch up to the bumper. In my 2010 I actually climbed over the bumper once and when I backed out I pulled my bumper away from the fender. That was really enjoyable. I have a 550, but they are the same.

Not sure how it is on W212, but my W210 4M was full inch higher than RWD model.

After time you get pretty good at judging the distance. I usually stay about 4 or 5 inches away from a curb. Scratched the front underside once and will not do it again.

Yup, it’s low enough that it doesn’t play well with full-height parking curb / blocks.
I’ve got the parking sensors, but don’t think they point low enough to pick-up the parking curb / blocks.

I am very cautious of the front fascia, especially in lots with the concrete bump stops. My last three cars , BMW's had front sensors -but they all had too many mechanical failures- glad to be done with them and now with MB

FWIW, the Luxury trim is raised in the front compared to the sport model. I never once scraped the bottom of the front of the car on any curb/parking block/etc in the time I had it. If you're worried about such things, learn to back the car into parking spaces as the rear clearance is substantially higher than the front.
+1 for the 360 cams if you're worried about it.

If I am pulling into a parking space, with another car to the left of me, I try to judge the curb distance by looking in the reflection from the car next to me. I still usually end up a foot away simply because I'm still parinoid of touching the curb.
KEY08 - I recently watched my wife back her Jeep Cherokee out of a parking spot where my daughter had previously parked it not knowing there was a low tree stump there. My daughter had unknowingly parked over top of the stump. I was standing in the parking lot talking with some friends, and as my wife backed up we all watched the front bumper cover almost separate from the car. We were all heading for vacation that day and were planning on using the Jeep. Needless to say, my wife was very upset. I kept my cool, surveyed the damage, and fortunately was able to reattach the bumper since it was mostly held on with "tabs". I calmed the poor woman down and told her it could happen to anyone. Disaster averted!

I have disability plates so I park in disability spots. All of them have a portable man made curb. All are higher than bumper skirt. You are forced to park away from curb because you will not make it above the curb. Why they have the curb in those spots is beyond any reasoning I can come up with. You just have to be careful and remember not to pull all the way up. Only good thing about disability spots is that no one parks next to you. Hence no door dings unless you get an idiot that pulls next to you anyways.

Haha same here. I know exactly how close I am within the curb or that slab of concrete when it hits the bottom of the display screen.

^ Yes, exactly. The front camera catches it all, whereas the Parktronic sensors(which I also have) never see the bumper.
