No acceleration/ nothing happening whilst throttling and rough between 1500-2000rpm
Hi all,
I've just purchased my first MB from used approved, got myself a E250 Sport 11 plate w212 7G Auto and joined MBWorld!!
I had a E90 M Sport and have just made the switch and the ride was not too kind for London driving especially with the kids in the car so I've opted for a bit of comfort for the family and so far apart from the below am not regretting it
Having received this car a few weeks ago and whilst driving recently, on occasion the car between 1500 and 2000 rpm sounds rough like it's trying too hard and today after turning left off a roundabout, the car suddenly was stuck at around 20mph and when applying some gas, nothing would happen - the rev meter was not moving and just sitting just about 1000 rpm. On each occasion, where the car has sounded louder then it should or the issue which occurred today, I just turn the car off and back on and it seems to be fine.
Any idea/ s what this could be?

You probably went into limp mode and when you turn it off/on you reset it. You have to buy a good scanner and scan the tranny not just obd2 but a complete scan and you will find the faults. I have the same issue in a 2009 BMW 528i it shifts to 5th and if I push it limp mode activates and cannot go too fast anymore. Turn it off and back on and back to normal. It might be the electrical harness and solenoids that cause all this, maybe.

X2 on having a scanner. There are several mentioned here on the forum, I use MB icarsoft 2.0, cost was US$145.
These cars are drive by wire and throttle pedal modules have been known to fail. But the cause could be from a number of sources so it's all guessing at this point.
Do you have any warranty with it? If so that's the first step.
