W212 facelift ASSYST Service interval change

Can I change the 25 000km too long service interval to 10 000km using MB Star or not? That 25 000km is too long interval for sure, cheapest mb spec oil costs only 3euros a litre (7.5litres oil qunatity), so I would like to change it in 10 000km, but it is not my car, that is why I want to change the service interval, otherwise people call me stupid or something for changing oil too often .

The car has got an issue with the rear electric tailgate too (estate model), it does not open electrically by itself (but it closes fine), how common is the strut fault on those? Or is it the tailgate motor to blame? Does the pre facelift motor fit the facelift model?

From the fact that oil change intervals are listed on factory datacard - I would assume that is is programmed on factory level, but software hackers can get into Pentagon brains, so I would not rule out anything
But what is the problem with making paper records? Even I reset FSS, I used the static sticker in upper windshield corner as double reminder how much more I have.
I heard lot of myths about oil changes on those cars and this was my first change, so plan to send 5000 miles sample to Blackstone for testing. That also will tell me how good new MB oil is.
You choose not to disclosure your location, but judging from km you are not in US? Still should have oil lab available?
You are posting in W212 section, but have W210 in your profile, so what engine you are talking about.
If you can get oil for MB diesel for 3 euros, that cheap. In US hard to find good oil for less than 10 bucks.

It is 2014 e300 om651 engine, it is my friends car, that is why it is not in my profile. I am located in Northern Europe. That 3-4 euros liter Mannol (wholesale price if I buy 208l drum) oil is not MB dealership oil, but it matches MB oil standards (and I have used Mannol oil in ca 2007-2008 18 wheelers with no issues for years, but I change the oil quite often) and is listed on MB website as a matching oil for those standards... MB dealership offers their oil for about 8euros litre. Mann HU718/5X filter is the best quality one for OM651, it has steel or somekind of mesh reinforcement even on them.

I have the same 2014 651 engine, who in USA is sold as E250.
I know European versions do have few more HP, but basically the same engines. Now is the car in question AddBlue equipped? Those are very sensitive to oils and I have only 2 choices that meet xxx.52 spec in USA.
I am posting oil test results in diesel section, so in few months you can check there for my update what is the judgement on oil after 5000 miles in this engine.
