Bubbles in two tires new set of tires?
I am so mad at myself - last week I hit a pothole. I thought I just hit it with the passenger front side because I found a bubble in the tire. Well this weekend while washing the car I noticed a bubble in the rear passenger wheel, too. So now the question becomes - replace both tires only or get a new set. I have about 35,000 miles on the car (2014 E550 4matic). I am leaning towards new tires but know that my wife will not be happy! What is everyone else thinking?

35000 miles and sounds like you still have lot of thread left? What tires are they.
Even replacing 2 tires at the time is not recommended, I never hesitated to do it.
I always put new tires up front for safety of braking and steering, but there are different schools about that.
If you get the same model tires, everybody should be happy?

Agree about replacing two at a time

Are the wheels bent? Check on the inside of the barrel by looking across from underneath with a flashlight. That is the weak spot on most wheels. MB service centers replace 1 tire, 2 tires all of the time. You don't need a new set.

I got a bubble on one of mine @ 40k miles, so I ended up replacing all 4. Very happy I did that since you don't get the best driving experience with changing just 2.

I would just buy a new set with a road hazard warranty. I just picked up a set of Michelin A/S 3+ at Costco. They have a 5 year road hazard warranty. You just missed a 1 cent installation sale, but they still have $70 off a set of 4. Lifetime balance and rotation.

That was my backup plan - going to Costco to get the A/S 3+. I am leaning towards all four tires but don't want to spend that much money this month! At least it does not look like the wheels are bent.
