I am new to this site an my first post an am wondering how to activate my DVD player on my 2012 e class merc

not sure what you mean by “activate” the DVD, but you may want to review the manuals, available at MBUSA.COM or your local country site in the owners sections. Have you tried the DVD with a disc that is “known good” for your region? Some DVD’s are region locked. Also, perhaps try an audio CD?

if this is a navigational DVD, then I will pass on answering the question, as I do not know that answer ... again,perhaps try a manual?

in my current 2010 E550 and the prior 2011 E350 there was no specific activation needed. Just stop and park and inserting the disk would play the movie in the center screen. Car must be on park for it to play.
