2014 E550-sold 😩
You mean you start out driving in "C" comfort mode(2nd gear start) and when you stop your car switches to "S"(1st gear start) by itself? If so, I want that function enabled on my car too.

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
My e starts out in 1st gear all the time in C mode. I have the eco turned off but even before I had it turned off it started out in 1st gear. I have never used s mode but next time I drive I will see what it does. Have no idea what GLK 350 does or has.

My 2014 E250 starts on 1st all the time as well.
I think with ECO mode you have to use 1st as 2nd on fast restart could jack-rabbit.
Mercedes does lot of designs with no explanation, so we can speculate all we want, but they claim to hire about 60 engineers to fine-tune each car, so they should know something.

My E use to start in 2st gear in C mode. When I got the car, before I left the dealership, sales guy has me done the ECU reset as he was explaining the functions of the car. I had not idea it was ECU reset until I read around in the forum after purchase. Around 500 miles, I start to see it sometime start in 1st gear and sometimes in 2nd. After around 600-700 miles it only start in 1st gear in C mode with or without Eco mode. Maybe the car get use to my driving style. Since I drive short distance, the Eco mode never activate. It seem the battery will only charge after I drive more than 20 miles for Eco mode to be activated after I drove off the freeway into local streets.

The ECO engine stopping at red light needs about 8 parameters to meet and it is hard to figure them all out.
My ECO will stop the engine 1 mile from home, but will keep it running several miles later. I drive in hot weather so I think at certain temperature it will keep the engine on for AC, but then another day it stop the engine with 100F outside.
The AC keeps blowing cold for a minute, although at lower speed.
Lately I discover some dirt on small battery clamps and seem that after cleaning ECO is coming more predictable.

Just bought a 15 E350, ECO worked fine during test drive up until I turned left on our road. About 60 miles from dealer. Hasn’t worked since, not getting ECO in center cluster, any thoughts?
