USB Device Not Readable
Hello,
I just bought an E350 Estate from 2012 in the UK. I've been pulling my hair out for a couple of days to find out why I can't get the USB connection in the centre console to recognise a USB stick.
I've tried three different USB keys formatted as FAT32 or FAT16 and although the system recognises that there is a USB device connected it tells me that it is 'unreadable'
I've reset the system completely but to no avail.
I've used USB keys from 2GB to 32GB with little or no MP3's on them.
I have been through many threads here, but have not found an answer that has solved, so I thought I'd ask again.
Has anyone experienced this and actually found a solution?
I've formatted the USB keys on a Mac by the way (FAT32 via Disk Utility and FAT16 via the Terminal)
Many Thanks

Thanks BMerc1,
Thats what I did (with disk utility OSX Sierra) but no luck with 3 USB keys and a usb drive.
Did you format yours on a Mac?
As it happens I bought a new Sandisk USB key which came preformatted FAT32 and it worked!
Hopefully someone else can avoid losing their hair with this in mind.
I have another problem now though in that I get ‘phantom’ copies of all songs prefixed with ‘.1-02’ which command is unable to play. My only solution to this so far is to go through the Music register and delete those copies one by one. Very strange really. Will post back when I find out why.
